Job Description: Garden Development Crew Lead
Purpose: Reporting to the Manager, Garden Development Division, this position provides ongoing maintenance/garden development to our residential clients to the highest standards possible in a safe and efficient manner with the support of Skilled Team Members.
Responsibility and Accountability:
-Daily reports to Manager, Garden Development regarding the days’ activities.
-Train, motivate and manage all new and returning team members.
-Assist with scheduling and communication of daily/weekly tasks.
-Supervise and schedule team members as well as perform work including the following:
-Maintenance of garden beds (e.g. raking, weeding, fertilizing, edging)
-Trimming, pruning and maintaining plants including hedges, trees, and shrubs
-Planting/transplanting plant material including small hedges, small trees or shrubs
-Preparing the beds for planting
-Addition of soils, mulch, peat moss, manure to garden beds
-Provide and maintain excellent customer service.
-Proper execution of the task at hand.
-Ensure team members are completing all assigned duties and that quality of work meets and/or exceeds expectations.
-Monitor “wear and tear” of maintenance equipment.
-Ensure personal and team adherence to all safety requirements.
-Ensure accurate completion of daily job sheets.
Skills:
-Minimum of five years experience in the landscaping industry.
-Knowledge of plant material, common insect and disease identification.
-Expected to have knowledge of, and proficiency of, the correct use of machines and tools such as hedge trimmers, cultivators, edgers, loppers, etc.
-Must have a Valid Driver’s License

Compensation:
Salary Range: $25.00 - $30.00 per hour
