LANDSCAPE ARCHITECT @ BETZ POOLS LTD.

The Landscape Architect will be responsible for all aspects of project after construction of the shell of the inground pool is complete. The Landscape Architect will supervise a wide range of hard and soft landscape projects from start to finish, under the guidance of the Project Manager. The Landscape Architect will supervise construction procedures, ensuring they are completed in a timely and efficient manner and the communication with the customer remains clear and consistent. An excellent Landscape Architect must be well-versed in all construction methodologies and procedures and able to coordinate a team of professionals of different disciplines to achieve the best results. The ideal candidate will have an analytical mind and great organizational skills.

Training: This is a trained position. The right candidate will be matched with a Senior Project Manager for several months of training. Previous landscape experience is necessary. The first 6 months of employment will be completing tasks designated by the Project Manager to meet the needs of the organization.

Goals: The goal will be to ensure all projects are delivered on time according to requirements and without exceeding budget.

Job Duties/Responsibilities

• Monitor, communicate, and coordinate activities with the client, contractors, other consultants and the approving authority.
• Supervise all aspects of in ground swimming pool construction projects under guidance of the Project Manager and Salesman.
• Organize manpower for daily tasks, if applicable. Building this responsibility over time.
• Order, pick up, and deliver supplies when needed.
• Maintain exceptional customer service experiences while completing projects.
• Be able to shuffle work and resources as emergencies arise.
• Inspect ongoing jobs and ensure employees are working safely, efficiently, and to performance standards.
• Assist in the resolution of design issues, change requests, material defects and equipment problems.
• Monitor job progress and costs and provide regular progress reporting to management.
• Ensure compliance with Betz Pools Ltd. Health and Safety training and reporting requirements.
• Prepare and maintain required records and written reports, including inspections and technical reports.
• Coordinate the permit process as assigned, review permit applications and permits for accuracy.
• Mediate and resolve disputes and code issues.
• Read, interpret, and understand construction drawings and specifications, the city codes and ordinances regarding building codes, permit issuance, and permit fees.
• Perform additional duties as required.

Requirements

• Minimum 5 years related landscaping experience necessary.
• Project management experience considered an asset.
• Valid G Drivers License
• Results-oriented individual with the ability to interpret and effectively manage multiple and competing priorities and time lines
• Ability to read blueprints, schematics, field drawings and plans
• A solid understanding of all construction trades and construction techniques or ability to learn techniques.
• Strong management, delegation, planning and leadership skills
• Effectiveness in the areas of construction safety and productivity
• Knowledge of local, provincial and federal workplace compliance regulations, ordinances and legislation
• Commitment to working in a team environment, with established team building abilities
• Strong communication, leadership, integration, problem-solving and interpersonal skills
