Garden Development Skilled Team Member

Purpose: Reporting to the Manager of the Garden Development Division, this position provides ongoing maintenance/garden development to our residential clients to the highest standards possible in a safe and efficient manner.

Responsibility and Accountability:
-Perform duties to assist with the garden maintenance/development of client properties such as:
-Maintenance of garden beds (e.g. raking, weeding, fertilizing, edging)
-Trimming, pruning and maintaining plants including hedges, trees, and shrubs
-Planting/transplanting plant material including small hedges, small trees or shrubs
-Preparing the beds for planting
-Addition of soils, mulch, peat moss, manure to garden beds
-Proper execution of the task at hand.
-Ensure that quality of work meets and/or exceeds expectations.
-Ensure proper use/ handling of maintenance tools and equipment.
-Comply with Landscape Plus Ltd health and safety policies and procedures.
-Provide and maintain excellent customer service.
-Maintain a courteous and polite manner when dealing with customers.
-Clear and appropriate interaction with fellow Team members.

Skills:
-Minimum of 1-2 years experience in the landscaping industry.
-Knowledge of plant material, common insect and disease identification.  IPM experience preferred.
-Expected to have knowledge of the correct use of machines and tools such as hedge trimmers, cultivators, edgers, loppers, etc.
-Understand and carry out verbal instructions, maintain simple records and make verbal reports.
-Good interpersonal skills.
-Valid Driver’s License.  Experience driving a truck or van preferred.

Pay Range $17-$24 per hour dependent on knowledge and experience
