Experienced gardeners (3yrs+) !! Want to join our team? Budding Landscapes is Hiring! Come ready to:
-maintain multiple, small and large, spectacular gardens with mulch, weeding, pruning, love
-work together with fine people in fine settings
-push a wheelbarrow filled with tools, rocks, gravel, soil, mulch, and only rarely empty
-climb ladders to prune and trim trees and hedges
-mow, trim, edge lawns- gardens are our primary focus, but a few lawns are part of the mix
-plant groundcovers, flowers, trees, shrubs, berries and vegetables
-care for the soil- mulching and ammending with only organic ingredients
-observe the gardens through the season, identify and solve problems, find ways to improve spaces
-somewhat flexible schedule, 4-5days/week, 6-8hrs/day- we do our best to make it work for everyone
-enjoy the weather in all it's splendor- sometimes torrential rain, snow and wind will mean no work, but sometimes it can't be avoided
-operate top of the line battery powered equipment-hedgers, mowers, blowers etc.
Horticultural training/experience/passion are key to our service. To work with us, expect to demonstrate:
-Proficiency in plant identification, fine pruning of shrubs and trees
-care and maintenance of perennials- planting, dividing, spacing, pruning/training, etc.
-care of equipment and tools
-attention to detail, and concern for a job well done- we get dirty, but the gardens always look tidy when we're finished
-a sense of garden design, artistic balance, flow and succession
-capacity for growth and change. We are always learning.
-hard work ethic- plenty of our tasks are pleasant and contemplative- and sometimes they are physically demanding- be ready and eager for all of it.
-Safety awareness!
-an understanding of how to work: be on time, be organized, know what the customer wants, have a plan, communicate with your team, complete what you start, take pride in a job well done. And keep hydrated!
-friendliness to customers, coworkers, and yourself
Pay $18-$24, starting wage, based on experience. As you prove your proficiency at the required tasks, the pay will most certainly reflect that.
Bonus points if you have experience with carpentry for outdoor structures/fence building, waterscapes, retaining wall and paver installation, permaculture design, fruit/nut/vegetable cultivation.
